CHANGE!

There is a CHANGE for this season! We will actually be competing and be titled as Sunnyvale Rockets. JR. Pee Wee. This does not change our age group! The team will consist of 8-11 year old cheerleaders! The only difference that is really happening is we will be Jr. Pee Wee instead of Pee Wee. We will still be functioning and have the same expectations had we competed Jr. Pee Wee.

Also! We are a large team as of right now. That means, we want even more girls so that we can hit our max numbers! If you have friends that want to try out something new, invite them to join! It is NOT too late! First day of practice is August 1st. As long as they have a physical completed and complete all paperwork as well as the $200 participation fee they will be all set!

Need help convincing someone who is back and forth, have them give me a call or shoot me an email! I'd be more than happy to help in explaining what they could expect for this cheerleading season!

Quick Updates!

Quick Updates!

Parent Meeting location HAS been determined.

I have final details for the parent meeting taking place next Monday, July 29th.
This meeting is MANDATORY, and if for some reason you cannot make it, I need to be contacted ASAP. Please contact and remind me even if you have let me know prior that you are unable to make it. If you know of or have girls/friends/cousins that need to sign up still, PLEASE attend this meeting. We are still accepting sign ups, but we need to know so we can plan accordingly. Uniforms are already in the process of being ordered.

Lastly, Reminder of practices for the first week/first month

Thursday, August 1st: 6pm-8:45pm
Friday, August 2nd: 6pm-845pm
Saturday, August 3rd: 9:30am-12pm [followed by BBQ 1-3:30pm]
Sunday, August 4th: 10am-12:30pm *note change on calendar

The BBQ August 3rd- I highly encourage families to plan to come out for this! It is a GREAT way to start the season off on a positive note and for everyone to come together before we get ready to train hard! Taking that time to just let loose a little as a team really makes a difference when it comes to practices, games and competitions! Throughout these next several months... we all come together more than just as a team... but as a family. We become each others support system. Let's make sure its a strong united one!

Starting the week of August 5th, practices will be Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday from 6pm-8:30 (with a 15 minutes cool down/parent circle up, release time may vary and end at 8:45 for first month of practices)

Season Ready!

The Season officially starts 2 weeks from today!

With that being said, there are some things that I would like to cover!

  • Please make sure all important paperwork is submitted! Email sunnyvalerockets.peewee@gmail.com if there are any questions.
Items Needed to sign up for the 2013 Season:
Birth Certificate - A copy of the original is acceptable
Physical Form- Dated after 1/1/13 by first day of practice
Report Card - A report card for the entire 2012-2013 school year is needed and can be obtained from your child's school and/or school district office

Player Contract - This must be completed by all participants in order to get on the field 8/1/13
Picture - A 2x2 head shot, no photos with sun glasses or hats will be accepted

$200 - This needs to be Paid In Full in order for all girls to practice 8/1/13

  • Uniform fittings/Sign ups- TODAY, THURSDAY JULY 18TH FROM 6PM-7PM
If you did not attend the uniform fittings on Tuesday, we NEED you to try to attend tonight's fitting. The sooner we have everyone's sizes the better shape we are in for getting them sooner! If you are still not signed up, this is an opportunity to sign up! If you aren't ready to sign up, but plan to, please attend the fitting tonight! E-mail me ASAP for the address and information! 
  • Physicals at Fair Oaks Park- THIS Saturday July 20th from 10-Noon 

Sunnyvale Pop Warner is bringing a physician out to Fair Oaks Park in Sunnyvale on July 20th from 10am-12pm and conducting physicals! This is a great alternative to having to schedule appointments to get a physical in time. We CANNOT and WILL NOT allow a child to participate without getting a physical. The fee is ONLY 25 dollars, which is very reasonable for a physical. You are, of course more than welcome to get them through your own doctors as well.
  • First week of practice! -Please Plan Accordingly
Practices begin Thursday, August 1st, 2013!
Thursday, August 1st: 6pm-8:30pm
Friday, August 2nd: 6pm-8:30pm
Saturday, August 3rd: 9:30am-12pm- Followed by a BBQ from 1-3:30pm
Sunday, August 4th: 10am-12:30om *Note change from original calendars handed out
*These practices are CRUCIAL! If your child misses any of these practices, they will not be able to participate in Stunting on Monday, August 5th. Pop Warner makes 10 hour mandatory conditioning before we can allow children to stunt.

The remainder of August will look like: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday Practices from 6pm-8:30pm
If you are interested in getting a copy of the calendar prior to the parent's meeting on Monday, July 29th, please e-mail me and I will send one over. Calendar dates are SUBJECT TO CHANGE
  • Parent Meeting REMINDER Monday, July 29th, 2013 from 6:30-7:45
The location is still TBD. The meeting will be from 6:30-7:45. It is a great opportunity to meet your coaching staff as well as to ask any questions. This is MANDATORY. We need both child and one parent/guardian present.  If for some reason you are unable to attend, please let me know. I may conduct one make-up parent meeting, although this is not preferred. I will keep everyone posted via e-mail about the location once it has been determined. If you are not receiving my e-mails, please e-mail me right away so I can address the issue. Look forward to meeting you! 
  • St. John's Dine in Night!- Monday July 22nd from 4-8pm
510 Lawrence Expressway, Sunnyvale. Great way to get involved! Come out and dine out! The burgers here are DELICIOUS! If you haven't tried them, you should! NO FLYER NECESSARY for this fundraiser. Just mention to the cashier that you are with Sunnyvale Pop Warner. They are giving 20% of all earnings will go to the general fund. This general fund is used throughout the season for your kids. Money goes to facilities, mats, equipment, etc.
  • Kick Off BBQ August 3rd
 August 3rd from 1-3:30, Sunnyvale Pop Warner will join together with the whole family! This is going to be AFTER practice. You will have time to go home and change! We are encouraging participation from Tiny Mites through Midgets, Cheer and Football together! This year we are very big on building the program into a strong family! We HIGHLY recommend coming out and joining the fun. We will be conducting games and providing food. We would LOVE it if each family could bring something pot luck style, but if that isn't possible, we want YOU out there! Sunnyvale once upon a time used to do BBQ and we want to bring it back. This is a GREAT opportunity to come out and get to know the parents and families that we will be working with for the remainder of the year. Let's begin creating those memories!
  • Jamba Juice this Season! Tuesday and Thursdays
For just $3 dollars Jamba Juice will be coming out to practices and serving drinks from 6-7pm on Tuesday and Thursdays. This is a fundraiser and Jamba Juice has offered to contribute some of the sales to the league!
  •  Kick off Fundraiser! Raider's game tickets!
 To give everyone a head start on what this year's fundraiser activity will be. The buyout will be $60, less than last years cookie dough. We are asking for each child to sell 4-6 tickets. They will be selling tickets to the Sunday, December 15, 2013 Raiders VS Kansas City Chiefs game. This date is planned to work out around the season. It is a great opportunity for each family to buy tickets and to attend a game with other Sunnyvale Pop Warner participants. Above is a small taste of the flyer. I will go more into details once the season starts. The Fundraising will occur between August 5th-August 19th. Feel free to start asking around if family, friends, coworkers, teachers, etc are interested! It is a great sale at only $45-60 a ticket (very reasonable for a professional football game!)
